Adopted in 2010, the Rupee symbol marked a defining moment in India’s economic journey, representing stability, growth, and global confidence. By uniting the Devanagari ‘?’ with the Roman ‘R’, it reflects India’s cultural roots and its integration into the global economy—an enduring emblem of resilience, progress, and economic promise.
An Installation of Economic Strength and Global Presence
The installation celebrates India’s rising economic confidence through a suspended matrix of over 50,000 one-rupee coins. Forming the Rupee symbol on one side and a world map on the other, it reflects India’s global footprint, blending Indian craftsmanship with contemporary expression. Projections and a curated coin-evolution exhibit further deepen the narrative of India’s past, present, and future.
